Eye Color

To me eye color is another amazing color quality within humans. Generally eye color can determine what race you are and where you are from. The common colors like brown eyes are found in black and white people and countries such as Finland, Estonia, and around the Baltic Sea. Blue eyes are are the second most common eyes in the world. Most of the people with blue eyes originate from Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Iceland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and the UK. Blue eyes are more light sensitive than brown eyes and can usually be damaged from strong light rays. Grey eyes have less melanin than blue eyes and are considered a darker shade of blue. They are commonly found in European's and Russian's. Green eyes are the least common eye color and and found in Northern and Southern European origin. Eye colors can be mixed into different races. I have a few black friends with hazel, green, and even blue eyes and that isn't normally found in the average african american person. Eye color to me is a very interesting attribute and can be used as almost an ID of a person.

More Color

When i think color as it fits with emotion I think of the basic stereotypical colors and emotion. For example, Red could mean passion, blue could mean cool, relaxed, or suttle. Yellow could mean caution excitement, purple is royalty, orange could be warm or hot, and black and gray can be dull and neutral. The topic of color .vs. emotion could spark up a pretty good debate and people always have there own opinion on colors. Many scientist have looked into the subject and found mmost of those theories to be true. Advertising colors in advertisements tap into the emotions of people and influences what to buy. Color can be very psycological and plays a major role in the marketing world. For example, in grocery stores they put all the colorful items at eye level to draw you straight to them. They also make that for people who eat foods to change your mood or make you happy such as ice cream and cookies.

I find it very interesting that color can alter your mood and distort your judgement. I think that in ways that can be good but it could also be pretty bad as well. However, color can be used for good like to stablize ones state of drunkness. They also used colors for babies to keep them happy and entertained. Color is this universal mystery that has these subliminal effects.

Color in the negative

We all know that color is used heavily in society in almost every way possible but color can also be used in several negative ways also. For example, color is a popular distinguishment in gangs. It seems that the beautiful red, blue, green, and yellow has a dark side in this context. Worldwide gangs such as Bloods, Crips, Latin Kings, and other gangswear the colors as code or a source of distinguishing gangs. Bloods use red as a symbol of blood shed or blood brothers to represent family. Crips use blue and latin kings used yellow. The groups use colored bandana's as a symbol of the flag the represent. It looks like these colors aren't always used simply for aesthetic purposes.
